| Actual new Full Sail Brewers Share beer labels |
I was surprised to learn that Full Sail Brewing is discontinuing some of its regular entries in the Brewmasters Reserve series of 22oz bottles and drafts and that they will be replaced by select beers from the Brewers Share series. Previously only offered as one-off draft beers brewed by different employees to benefit their choice of charity and served only at Full Sail's Portland and Hood River taprooms, the Brewers Share series most popular four entries are coming back. This is how Full Sail describes the series in its previous draft only incarnation:
"The Brewer’s Share series is a line-up of small batch draft beers where each Full Sailor takes a turn hand-crafting their own single batch recipe and a portion of the proceeds benefit a local charity of their choosing. Full Sail’s Brewer’s Share beers will only be available on tap at our Tasting Room and Pub in Hood River, Oregon, and at our Brewery at Riverplace, in Portland, Oregon. Growlers to go are available. "More info on the new bottles, labels, and what is to become of some Brewmasters Reserve series beers below.
The cool news is that I have had some of these once only one time brewed beers and many are good, including the Berliner-Weiss, which I am especially excited to see return.
The labels are also really cool, though a bit hard to read. Obviously they are modeled after official legal documents and have a classy vintage feel to them. It is an interesting approach to a beer label, a bit similar to the recent Ninkasi/21A collaboraion Allies Win the War! and the total opposite of some of the other recent branding we have been seeing using QR codes. Each of the beers will still have some proceeds go to each creator's select charity and will also be available on draft. The draft-only rotating Brewers Share beers will continue as well, with just these select ones being bottled for now.
The only negative is that I hear some Brewmasters Reserve series beers like 'Hop Pursuit' and 'Bump in the Night' will be discontinued. More details on this as they become available.

I dig on those labels a lot.
