Fort George Brewery Throws Down
With news of its fourth canned beer hitting the shelves, Fort George Brewing is staying incredibly busy with its just-announced 'Liberate the Ales 4th of July' party. Quick Wit has been a longtime favorite at Fort George, and it's nice to see another packaged witbier, since they are few and far between. Like usual, the can stands out with an strange but very pleasant color combination that makes an eye-catching package. Unlike most Belgian-style witbiers, this one is spiced with not only the usual coriander, but also additions of lemongrass and elderflower for an extra citrusy and floral punch.
This 4th of July you've got a great excuse to get out of town for the Liberate The Ales party at Fort George with live music from Danny Barnes and Fort George's own Brian Bovenizer's band Holiday Friends. There will be a parking lot beer garden and 8 IPAs on tap from 3-10pm, and I bet there will be an excellent view of the fireworks on Astoria's harbor.

Just a heads up, they have 5 different canned varieties:
ReplyDeleteQuick Wit
1811 Lager
Vortex IPA
Sunrise OPA
Cavatica Stout
Thanks for the shout out Ezra! And thanks to Anonymous for pointing out that Fort George now has 5 beers packaged in Cans-
ReplyDeleteFYI - Fort George has also absorbed another Holiday Friend! Bassist, Zack O'Connor can also be found slinging beers in the pub. Danny Barnes tears it up as well.
-Cheers,
