Pickle Fest - Saturday July 21st

A hidden gem in the Oregon Craft Beer Month calendar, Kenny & Zuke's 2nd annual Pickle Fest returns this Saturday. From humble beginnings as a sidewalk party outside of their SandwichWorks location, Pickle Fest expands to a full on fest at Wallace Park in NW Portland.

Last year I decided to take a chill day off of the craziness of Oregon Craft Beer Month to check out the Pickle Fest and I was not disappointed. Everything from classic cucumber based pickles to wacky and bizarre entries like pickled baby octopus and some craft beers on tap pair oh so well. More than 10 restaurants compete in the friendly competition in everything from classic pickles to sweet, non-cucumber to Portland weird.

It's time to dust off my pickle pincher and return to this bigger and badder fest this year, pouring in the beer garden are highly quaffable beers from Occidental Brewing that should wash down all the excellent pickling well.
