September is a huge month for The New School. We have 3 exciting upcoming events, 2 of them this weekend and one next Friday night, all building up to the launch of the 3rd generation of the website. We have been slowly transitioning from day 1 from being a beer blog to becoming more of a web magazine.

F & B is a celebration of smoke & chili beers, a niche category but a tasty one. More info about the happenings here.






This Friday 9/14 we are doing our 2nd Strip Club Crawl on the Brewvana Bus this time with RedHook Brewery sponsoring. It is super cheap ($35) considering Red Hook will provide beer on the bus and buy the first round of beers at each stop.

Then on Saturday 9/15 we are heading to Corvallis for their beer week. We have seats reserved at the sold out Beer Brunch at Block 15 Brewing,  which includes a chance to buy rare cellared bottles from their collection. Then we head to Oregon State University to tour their fermentation sciences program and check out their own maltster. Last, we will attend the Corvallis Septembeerfest. Lastly, next Friday night we are throwing a Feast Portland afterparty at one of our favorite new joints: Lardo on SE 12th and Hawthorne.

We are teaming up with Double Mountain Brewery, Upright Brewing, and The Sugar Cube, too. This later evening event (9pm - midnight) will have some delicious food specials cooked with featured brewers beers. Special beers on tap, prizes, a delicious beer cocktail made from a Devil's Kriek with ginger reduction and even a crazy delicious Beer Ice Cream float made by The Sugar Cube and using Ice Cream from Salt & Straw and Bourbon Barrel-Aged beer from Double Mountain. There is no charge to attend, and food and drinks individually priced. We hope to see you there!
