Saraveza's Bad Habit Room Renovation

I popped into Saraveza yesterday to touch base about tomorrow's Fresh Hops Workshop and help make some hop olive oil. While there I checked out the currently under renovation Bad Habit Room, which is the event space owned by Saraveza that has been used for private and spillover events. If you haven't been there before, it's a cool little room that is about to get a whole lot better.

If you're attending the Fresh Hops Workshop on Saturday you will get a peek at the still-in-progress renovation of the Bad Habit Room. It won't be finished yet, but the project is well underway. The old bartop is gone and a brand new real bar with a 4 tap draft system is being installed. The space is opened up to feel much airier, if not larger. The biggest addition other than the nice new wood paneled bar is the full kitchen now behind it. Previously there was absolutely no food and no permanent taps, so they had to set up jockey boxes to pour beer and bring in plates catering style from Saraveza's kitchen for food. It's not installed yet, but the Bad Habit Room will also have a cool wooden old-school vintage looking refrigerator behind the bar for bottles. Because these antiques are expensive and hard to find in working condition, they are having one built just for them. Also fitting with the antique theme is silver and glass stylish light fixtures for the walls and ceilings.

All this will make the new Bad Habit Room a pretty nifty event space when it's finished. I'm looking forward to attending more gatherings at. One day it might even become its own full operating bar. Interested in booking an event there? Check out its webpage (though the photos are pre-remodel) http://www.saraveza.com/site/rent/.

  1. The kitchen counter helps saves space believe it or not. It is a curved dining table that can accommodate many diners so long as the stools are distributed evenly. Similar in the setup of the many apartments for rent in brussels.

  2. I wish I was there when they are still renovating that room. I need to manage my property in East London so I don’t have a time to visit.
