The Horse Brass Celebrates 36th Anniversary with Special Tappings

Today Portland's famous Horse Brass Pub celebrates it' 36th Anniversary, but if you have not visited recently, you have probably not heard about it. To celebrate the occasion numerous special beers will be tapped, some of them brewed specifically for the event.

Taplist for 11/1 Anniversary

The Horse Brass is a must-visit for any beer lover, but sometimes runs frustratingly under the radar. The anniversary party is said to have "beers from all over the country specially brewed for this event!" but the taplist on the bar only shows a couple made for the Horse Brass, and all in Oregon. Not to dissuade you, but beers specially brewed by Boneyard and the Horse Brass's own King C. are nothing to shake a stick at. I personally am looking forward to 2010 Alaskan Smoked Porter, Old Tavern Rat, and a Barrel-Aged Imperial Amber from Full Sail.

But with this list made up of all west coast brewers, are there some beers not yet revealed? Possibly so, as even the Horse Brass staff did not know what to expect.

  1. "Frustrating" is the perfect word for Horse Brass. Thanks for the heads up!

  2. The beer Todd and I brewed is a dark mild ale, called Don's Revenge.
