Old Town Brewing Co. Releases Bottles

By  |

Old Town Brewing bottlesPortland’s  Old Town Brewing ® (OTB®), the brewery operation of Old Town Pizza, has just released bottles of its award-winning beer in 22oz bottles. Now available in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington are the brewery’s IPA and Kolsch, and it looks like a couple of seasonals are on the way, too.

OTB’s Shanghai’d IPA ® and two-time award-winning Sun Dazed Kölsch™ will be sold in 22 ounce glass bottles, available as of June 3. The Shanghai’d IPA–a nod to Old Town’s most storied history–is a medium-bodied IPA with grapefruit, resinous and piney hop aroma, and flavors balanced by a touch of malt sweetness. The Sun Dazed Kölsch is the perfect sessionable beer for a hot summer day with its crisp, clean but delicate fruity aroma and flavor; this beer pairs perfectly with sun and fun.

This 5 % ABV pre-prohibition cream ale is what your great-grandparents would have drank at the turn of the 20th century. It is a lighter straw colored beer with a slightly sweet aroma.  The flavor has a medium bitterness from the Santiam hops and finishes with a moderate malt sweetness. A refreshing beer on a warm Portland day.

To usher its new bottles into the craft brew community, OTB will be visiting some of Portland’s favorite bottle shops, hosting tasting sessions, giving attendees the chance to meet the brewery team, offering free giveaways and providing bottles available for purchase.

“Our beer reflects the personality of this incredible city and the people in it,” said Adam Milne, owner of Old Town Brewing. “We could not be more excited for our beer to be in the hands of the people whom inspired it, and to share our beers with enthusiasts across the region. It’s a huge moment for our whole team, to see our bottles on the shelves next to the breweries we admire, and truly marks a huge milestone for us – I’m so proud.”

Local flair is not limited to the Shanghai’d IPA and Sun Dazed Kölsch. OTB embodies the quirks of Portland and its people in every batch of beer it brews, creating a unique beer drinking experience built on a foundation of inspiration drawn from Portland’s culture.

About Old Town Brewing Co.

Old Town Brewing (OTB) opened in northeast Portland, Ore., in 2011 with an emphasis on crafting its beer to reflect the spirit, values, history and personality of Portland and the Northwest. OTB is the first brewery in the country to deliver beer and pizza by bike straight to consumers, rain or shine. Reclaimed materials were extensively incorporated into the design of the LEED Gold brewery, evoking an atmosphere of Northwest authenticity and sustainability.

Owner Adam Milne opened OTB to complement his Old Town Pizza® location in Portland’s historic Old Town neighborhood. A devoted Old Town Pizza customer since celebrating his ninth birthday at the restaurant, Milne purchased Old Town Pizza from the original owners, the Accuardi family, in 2003.
