Classic San Francisco-based brewery Magnolia Brewing recently began distributing its beers to Oregon, and owner/brewmaster Dave McLean will be back in Portland this week for 2 events. Meet Dave at APEX this Wednesday, May 10th or at The Woodsman Tavern on Thursday, May 11th, he will also be bringing some new and rare barrel-aged beers.

A great list of some new to Oregon beers, like Saison de Lily (very limited), as well as a couple of barrel aged beers (extremely limited)
like barrel-aged Delilah Jones Rye (strong Rye Ale) and barrel-aged Old Thunderpussy (Barleywine).

An almost entirely different beer list than the Apex event.  The Woodsman Tavern’s chef will prepare a couple of pairings with some of the beers.  The featured beer is barrel-aged Out with the Old (English Olde Ale).


Founder of The New School and most frequent contributor Ezra Johnson-Greenough has worked in the craft beer industry for almost 10 years, doing everything from illustrating beer labels to bartending at renowned beer bars and breweries like Belmont Station, Apex, Laurelwood and Upright Brewing. He has also had a hand in creating events like the Portland Fruit Beer Festival, Portland Beer Week, and the Brewing up Cocktails series.
