While the Wayfinder brewery is still getting set up, Kevin Davey and Charlie Devereux are keeping busy brewing collaborations. Try four new collabs with Fat Head’s, Ecliptic, Zoiglhaus, and Widmer this Wednesday, January 4th from 5PM – 7PM at Wayfinder Brewery.

Fat Head’s Hookah Juice IIPA – 8.0%abv
Heavily hopped and dry hopped lager from Mike Hunsaker and Co. Mike wanted to make a lager, Kevin wanted to make an IPA. Here are the results: Loads of citrus forward hops, Citra, Galaxy. Finishes clean like a lager should and leaves your pallet craving more.

Ecliptic Starfinder Witbier – 6.1%abv
Classic Belgian Style Witbier from John Harris and Team. Spiced with coriander and orange peel and fermented dry with a special yeast.

Zoiglhaus GSD-IPA – 7.5%abv
Crisp, assertive and clean IPA brew with Alan Taylor and Crew at Zoiglhaus. An oud to some of the California IPAs Kevin had while working at Firestone Walker, this beer has plenty of the classic “C” hops: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Citra, with a little Amarillo in there to boot.

Widmer Spalt Assault Doppelsticke – 7.5%abv
Over a couple Supergeil Festbiers with the guys from Widmer, Kevin lamented that Widmer’s classic Altbier was only available at the Gasthaus. Tom, Corey, Dan and Kevin then hatched a plan to make a double version of an Alt and make a few key changes to keep it interesting. Spalt Assault uses just the right amount of Midnight Wheat and Caramunich and then employs an intense boost of gravity only to fermented with a Koelsch yeast to dryness. As advertised, this beer is finished and dry hopped with spicy, grassy Spalt Select hops from Germany. Spice and roast in Balance.
