Migration Brewing Ends Self-distribution to Partner with Columbia

By  |

Long-known for its strong work ethic and commitment to growing its brand through self-distribution, Northeast Portland’s Migration Brewing is partnering with Columbia Distributing as of May 2017.  After seven years of self-distributing, the brewery now has an opportunity to expand its brand with the state’s largest beer distributor.

“We started with a real boot-strapping mentality,” says Eric Banzer-Lauseberg, Distribution Sales Manager. “Portland was still in the middle of the great recession of 2010 and we had some extra beer to sell.  So I loaded up our ’84 Toyota pick-up with kegs of Clem’s Cream ale and started making sales calls. Next thing I knew we had a constant stream of neighborhood accounts to work with. We’re so grateful to our strong Portland community who have all supported us since day one.”

The next step in the journey of Migration Brewing will be opening a 20 BBL production facility in the Portland metropolitan area.  The goal is to have this location operating and producing beer by early 2018, allowing Migration increase production and further serve its loyal fans and community.  More details in the coming months.
