Portland Beer Week (June 8-18th, 2017) is throwing a kickoff party to end all kick-off parties on Thurs. June 8th from 4-10pm at the Exchange Ballroom and Cascade Rooftop. The indoor/outdoor event features a “beer week marketplace” featuring vendors from BrewedOregon and Mindy’s Beer Gear’s merch tables to 5404 Meats from San Francisco, Salt & Straw Ice Cream, Blue Star Donuts, cheese from the Oregon Cheese Guild, and of course a bunch of breweries like Culmination Brewing with their new “Hop Berry IPA.”

The Yard building looms to one side of the rooftop beer garden, on the other a view downtown

The Exchange Ballroom is in the little known but centrally located Exchange Building right next to The Yard at the Burnside bridgehead on the NE side. So that makes it right off the streetcar line, the Tri-Met 20 and 4 buses and the building has it’s own free parking on-site after 5:30pm.

This years Kickoff Party features an indoor marketplace with tons of free food and drink samples and hot fresh pizza from Hotlips. Snack your way through the marketplace, pick up a new Growler, beer wallet or purse, beer week t-shirt or hat while sampling local meats, cheese, ice cream and more. Then, make your way to the roof for a stunning view of downtown Portland and the Willamette River. The Exchange Ballroom is located at 123 NE 3rd in Portland.

DRINK: Beer from Culmination Brewing, Breakside Brewery, Hopworks Urban Brewery, Stormbreaker Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing and Little Beast Brewing. Hard cider from the NW Cider Association and craft spirit samples and bottles to-go from House Spirits.
