Stormbreaker Brewing Announces Eclectic Portland Beer Week Event Schedule

Portland’s StormBreaker Brewing is taking Portland Beer Week (June 8-18th) by storm with four events of its own and also taking part in other key events, including the Kickoff Party tonight and the Portland Fruit Beer Festival and Rye Beer Fest this weekend. The eclectic lineup of events at the N. Misssissippi brewpub include enlisting customers to help hop a beer during a brew, a beer and spirit pairing interactive seminar, beer and wings pairing, a hybrid scavenger hunt + pub crawl + beer fest, and even some beer trivia.

Description: PDX Beer Week continues with another fun opportunity. Our Handfuls of Hops IPA series is brewed for you, by you. Each batch we invite members of the community to throw in some hops. Each recipe is different, with different hops, and of course, different hands. Join us for this fun and communal brew day. Kick back and enjoy a brew as you wait for your turn to throw your own handfuls of hops in. Any questions about the beer or process? Just ask the brewer! Will you have a hand in it?

 

Thursday June 15: TENTx Talk: Beer & Spirits Pairings 6p

Description: Join us in our tent (walls up hopefully) as we are joined by some of the best distillers in Portland to discuss beer & spirit pairings. Distillers from Bull Run Distillery, Indio Spirits, Stone Barn Brandyworks, and Eastside Distilling will be on hand! What makes pairings great? How to create a great pairing? Get the answers to these questions and more during this interactive TENTx Talk. For $15 you will enjoy 4 different pairings (4oz beer 1/4 oz spirit) and many pearls of wisdom. Also on Thursday (running all day), the pairing theme continues as we will have a Beer & Wings Pairing as well.  We will serve 5 full smoked wings, each with a different sauce, paired with 5 different beer tasters. So come hungry!

 

Saturday Jun 17: Beer Quest & Mini Beer Fest 10A

Description: For our final event, we are putting on a Beer Quest and Mini Beer Fest! This will be a casual but competitive beer “quest” involving many of the NoPo area breweries including Ecliptic BrewingHopworks Urban BreweryLompoc BeerUpright BrewingWidmer Brothers BrewingLabrewatory, Ex Novo Brewing, and Stormbreaker Brewing. Starting at 10am, you will make your way to each of the participating breweries to get a hole punch in your beer quest card. There is no set route, so how you get there is up to you! Run/bike/walk/unicycle/pogo stick, doesn’t matter. (Just make sure you get your cards punched by 11:15.) Miles covered will be roughly a 5K. Once you get your card filled out you’ll head back to StormBreaker and redeem your beer quest card to get tasters for the beer fest. Each hole punch is redeemable for one 4 oz pour of that brewery’s beer. Gain points along the way to become the Beer Quest Champ! Tickets are $30 and include event taster glass, 8 taster tix, event T shirt, and tons of fun! A portion of the proceeds will go to support the HRCLL (Little League)! These event will be capped at 130 attendees so hurry up and get your tix!
