Top Events to Close Out Portland Beer Week

By  |

We are now in our 9th day of Portland Beer Week. The eleven day beer week still has a full weekend of events left, and some of the best ones are still to come. Here is our rundown of some of the big events you do not want to miss.

Branding for Beer Seminar

Fri. June 16th 5pm @ Baerlic Brewing

Oregon State University and The HR Group present the Portland Beer Week “Branding for Beer” seminar hosted by Baerlic Brewing.

In the increasingly competitive craft beer market, whether your opening a taproom, brewpub or hard cider, branding and design is more important than ever to stand out and define your business. The “Branding for Beer” seminar will cover everything from logo design to merchandising to label design and standing out on supermarket shelves to a brewpub or t-shirt. A panel of branding and design experts responsible for designs for Stumptown Coffee, Breakside Brewery, Little Beast Brewing, Fort George Brewing, Base Camp Brewing and much more will be speaking. $10 ticket includes a beer.

Masters of IPA

Fri. June 16th 4-9pm @ Ecliptic Brewing

Masters of IPA advanced tickets are sold out, but there are still a substantial 200 available at the door. This IPA invitational returns for it’s 3rd year with a dozen of the best India Pale Ale brewers from across the country. This years fest will be held at Ecliptic Brewing in their production space and outdoor patio with collectible glassware, 4oz and 8oz pours of beer.

Tickets are $10 for a glass and 3 beer tickets. An individual glass is $7, additional drink tickets are $2 each. 4oz pours are 1 ticket, 8oz pours will be 2 tickets.

Stormbreaker Beer Quest & Beer Fest

Sat. June 17th 10am @ Stormbreaker Brewing

The StormBreaker Beer Quest and Mini Beer Fest is a casual, but competitive beer “quest” involving many of the NoPo area breweries (list coming soon!). Starting at 10am, participants will run/bike/walk to each of the participating breweries to get a hole punch in their beer quest card. This is kind of an expedited beer trail in the form of a run, but there is no set route. Once you get your card filled out you will then back to StormBreaker and redeem your beer quest card to get tasters for the mini beer fest. Each hole punch is redeemable for one 4 oz pour of that brewery’s beer. We will have more info on the participating breweries and a ticket link posted soon. Check our facebook page for updates.

Sour Solstice Fest

Sat. June 17th @ Imperial Bottle Shop & Taproom

What better way to kick of the summer than a killer lineup of refreshingly tart and delicious sours! Imperial will be pouring 16 sours in all. Commemorative glasses are $5, and drink tickets are $2. Or save $3 and get a package of one glass and 10 tickets for only $22. All beers will also be available by the glass. See the beer list here.
