Ecliptic Brewing Releases UltraViolet Blackberry Sour in Rye and Syrah Barrel-aged Versions

Ecliptic Brewing’s seasonal UltraViolet Blackberry Sour Ale has been barrel-aged and a fresh new batch will be released, with bottles from Syrah wine barrels rye whiskey barrels. Starting today, July 13th, you can purchase bottles of all three or for a very limited time find them on draft in Oregon and Washington and a tasting will be held at Iron Tap Station in southeast Portland.

 

 

UltraViolet Blackberry Sour Ale

UltraViolet is brewed with Oregon blackberries, soured in the brewhouse.  The result is a tart and crisp sour ale, with ripe blackberry flavors radiating throughout it like cosmic rays traversing the universe.

ABV 7.5%

 

Syrah Barrel-Aged UltraViolet Blackberry Sour Ale

UltraViolet was tucked away in 6-year-old Syrah red wine barrels for 9 months.  The flavors of oak and ripe fruit meld with the sour blackberries for a delicious flavor.

ABV 9.5%

 

Rye Barrel-Aged UltraViolet Blackberry Sour Ale

UltraViolet spent 10 months sleeping in 6-year-old rye whiskey barrels, developing a profile of flavors reminiscent to a fine cocktail.

Ecliptic Brewing is a venture from John Harris, an Oregon beer icon whose background is steeped in the state’s rich craft brewing history.
