Deschutes Brewery Releases German-inspired Hopzeit Autumn IPA in 6-Packs

By  |

Deschutes Brewery has released seasonal Hopzeit Autumn IPA under the hashtag #SayNoToPumpkinBeer. Hopzeit has a confusing background, starting as a seasonally appropriate German-style Märzenbier with much more German hop character that apparently elevates it to an IPA. Deschutes describes it as having an herbal hop character with the fruit and spice and malt flavors of a German festbier.

More from the commercial description:

Available August – October. If you’re looking for a traditional Oktoberfest, head to Munich. This modern ale inspired by the time-honored flavors of a Märzenbier combines classic malts with the latest hop varietals from Germany to deliver an herbal and balanced Autumn IPA that’s as at home in your backyard as the biergarten. Celebrate the season by sharing with friends, and skip the lederhosen- your friends will thank you.
