Deschutes Brewery Collaboration Gose with Jacobsen Salt

The resurrection of the once nearly-extinct Gose style of beer is now complete with the release of Deschutes Brewery‘stake on the historic ale made in collaboration with Jacobsen Salt Co.

Gose has been re-popularized by craft brewers across the country, and local takes on the style by Cascade Brewing and Upright Brewing have helped return it to prominence (or, at the least, relevance). The style has its roots in Germany and is most similar to the Berliner-weisse. Traditionally a very low alcohol wheat beer brewed with coriander and a lactic fermentation, what makes it especially unique is the addition of salt. Jacobsen Salt Co. is the perfect partner on the new collaboration, as the company’s salts have been acclaimed and beloved by local foodies. A special release party for Deschutes Gose is happening this Saturday in Bend; we’re still awaiting news on a Portland release…

Saturday, June 1st, 5:30-7:30pm.
Deschutes Brewery and Public House, 1044 Bond Street, Bend
Event will include beer samplings and a chance to meet with the salt maker and the brewer. Open to the public. Please call (541) 382-9242 with questions.
