Weekend in Beervana: Belgian Fest, Craft Beer Fest, Mead Jubilee, Firestone Walker

This weekend you have a multitude of options in Portland and surrounding areas for special events. From Bailey’s 4th annual BelgianFest to new events like the Portland Meadows Oregon Craft Beer Fest and Mead Market’s Winter Mead Jubilee and the annual Firestone Walker XVII anniversary beer release.

The anticipated annual release of FIrestone Walker’s anniversary barrel-aged beer blend. Both FW XVII and SUCABA will be on tap with bottles to go.

14 local winemakers recently convened to help the brewing team blend the next Firestone Walker Anniversary Ale. The result is “XVII”—a vintage blend of seven eclectic component ales aged in retired bourbon, brandy and whiskey barrels.

Mead Market invites you to come taste over 15 meads including local mead from Kookoolan Farms, and the cult-favorite from Denmark, Dansk Mjod Viking Blod. We will be pouring all different styles, from dry to sparkling to sweet, and traditional variations such as Cyser, Metheglin, and Melomel! Come meet many of the makers of your favorite meads!

In conjunction with Oregon Championship Day the Portland Meadows race track is hosting an Oregon Craft Beer Fest on Sunday.

The Oregon Craft Beer Fest will feature state-wide samples and delicious winter selections and will take place primarily inside the grandstand on the mainline. Additional beers will also be available in the outdoor Beer-B-Q tent.

Live racing begins at 12:00 PM (noon) and the Craft Beer Festival will go on from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

There is no charge for admission or parking at Portland Meadows or for the Oregon Craft Beer Fest.
3 oz. samples will be available for $1.00 each and full 12 oz. pours will be available with four tickets ($4.00).

As a special offer, the Portland Meadows Jockey Boot Glass will be available free of charge with 10 tickets purchased (limit of one boot glass per person).
