The “Double EE Festival,” a new mini-fest founded by our own Brian Yaeger, wants to be the best fest celebrating beer,cheese, and how wonderfully they go together. You may be feeling a little big of deja vu–the fest was originally slated to be held in November but was abruptly canceled and relocated, now to be held at Rogue Creamery in Central Point, Oregon, on Sunday, March 16th.
Organizers at the Oregon Cheese Guild have lined up three judges for the beer and cheese pairings–author Janet Fletcher, Cheesemonger Steve Jones, andCULTUREfounder Lassa Skinner. There will be at least 10 teams participating in the event, including 6 Oregon Cheese Guild cheesemakers. Tickets are $50 per audience member and the event is limited to 100 guests.Guests receive entry into the competition and event, an official judge’s score card, the opportunity to participate in the judging, plenty of time to taste the beer and cheese pairings with the makers after the competition, and a tasting tumbler” keepsake” logoed beer glass.
