Brooklyn’s Sixpoint Brewing Launches in Portland

Brooklyn, New York’s Sixpoint Brewing launches in Portland next week with release parties for its cans and draft beer becoming available through Running Man Distributing. Already a popular brewery on the east coast, Sixpoint may be best known to Portlanders for its 3 Bean Stout collaboration with Stumptown Coffee and owner Shane Welch’s regular appearances in town.

Founded in 2004 by Andrew Bronstein and Shane Welch, Sixpoint initially sold only draft beer to local bars, but after beginning canning in 2011, the brewery’s beers are available all over the Northeast and have become quite popular. Sixpoint has great branding and packaging, with sharp, clean graphics and a signature slim 12oz can like those that hold a Starbucks Frappuccino or a Red Bull. I am happy to say that we will be getting all four of the year-round beers in cans: The Crisp Pilsner, Sweet Action Cream Ale, Bengali IPA, and Resin Imperial IPA.
Running Man Distributing will also be bringing in some limited draft and seasonals, like Global Warmer Imperial Red and Lump of Coal Porter,, which just debuted at the Holiday Ale Festival.
Sixpoint co-owner Shane Welch spends a lot of time in Portland, so distribution here seemed inevitable. Next week we will be lucky enough to have his presence along with his beers at a series of launch events around Portland.
