Hopworks Urban Brewery releases 2014 Noggin Floggin Barleywine next week, and that should help ease the pain of the delayed release of Kentucky Christmas, the barrel-aged version of Abominable that was originally set for release on December 15th. Noggin Floggin will be a very limited release at $9 a 22oz bottle.

2014 Noggin Floggin Barleywine go on sale December 26th at Hopworks’s SE Powell location in Portland and will be available in limited distribution at Whole Foods Market in Oregon and Washington.

This year’s barleywine has a fruity and caramel aroma with resinous hops and complex sherry and malted toffee flavor, followed by a warming finish. The beer makes a fantastic holiday gift for fans of big beers and beer collectors with home cellaring. 100 IBU, 9.5% ABV.

Hopworks Urban Brewery is located at 2944 SE Powell Blvd., Portland, OR
