Oakshire Brewing will release Hellshire V, the brewery’s fifth barrel-aged beer under the Hellshire label, on Saturday, March 14, 2015.  To celebrate this release and the craft of barrel-aging, Oakshire will host a Second Annual Hellshire Day & Barrel-Aged Beer Fest at its Public House, on Madison Street in Eugene. The beer festival will include offerings from Oakshire’s barrel-aging cellar, as well as dozens of barrel-aged beers from breweries around the country. Sales of 22 oz. wax-dipped Hellshire V bottles will be available at the festival at Oakshire’s Public House, beginning at 11 a.m.

Regarding the Hellshire V release, Brewmaster Matt Van Wyk said, “We received some very nice Knob Creek Bourbon barrels at the beginning of the year and formulated a Strong Stout that will marry perfectly with the bourbon and vanilla notes from the barrels. This year’s blend tastes great.”

The Hellshire Day & Barrel-Aged Beer Fest will include live music by local bands and food served up by local food carts. Entry fee to the festival will include a commemorative Hellshire V tasting glass and sampling tokens, with more available for purchase.

Last year’s breweries at the festival included:

Oregon: Ninkasi, Block 15, Breakside, Flat Tail, Boneyard, Hopworks, Double Mountain, Logsdon, Cascade, The Commons, De Garde.

National: Crooked Stave, Anchorage Brewing, Port Brewing/The Lost Abbey, Pizza Port Carlsbad, 5050, Beachwood BBQ, Firestone Walker, Elliot Bay, Two Brothers Brewing, Haymarket Brewing, Half-Acre, Off Color Brewing, Pipeworks Brewing, Trinity Brewing, Perennial Artisan Ales, Cigar City Brewing, Three Floyd’s and Surly.
