2nd Annual Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest

Back for another year, the 2nd annual Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest takes place on April 11 with more than 20 cideries participating. Hood River is the strongest production region in Oregon with 9 cideries, which is perhaps the highest concentration of cideries in the country in any one small area. Pretty soon Hood River County could be known as the Beervana of the cider world, and it’s a gorgeous location for a cider fest.

Hood River Hard-Pressed Cider Fest offers a chance to sample cider from Hood River County’s very own cider makers–including Gorge Cyder House, Fox Tail Cider, HR Ciderworks, Rack & Cloth, The Gorge White House and Hood Valley Hard Cider–as well as a variety of additional Northwest cideries. More than 20 cideries will be participating, with more than 30 ciders on tap, making this one of Oregon’s biggest cider events of the year.

“Hood River’s hard cider scene is unparalled in the Pacific Northwest, and this festival is the perfect way for our cider lovers to taste our numerous and unique ciders,” said Mike Glover, Executive Director of the Hood River Area Chamber of Commerce. “Plus, with all of Hood River Valley’s fruit orchards awash in blossoms, April is the perfect time for visitors to come out and see where the ciders get their start.”

The daylong event also features local food vendors, arts vendors, a kid’s area and a line-up of local music, from bluegrass to classic rock – guaranteeing a great time for the whole family.

The complete line-up of cideries will be available on March 15, 2015. For details, go to Hoodriver.org/hard-pressed-cider-fest.
