GoodLife Brewing in Bend, Oregon is making its excellent best-selling hoppy beers even hoppier with the addition of a new Randall at the taproom. What do you do when you have a few extra pounds of wet hops that you don’t want to waste? You think of your good friends at the Pine Box in Seattle, Ian and Dean, and the fellas at Dogfish Head and build a Randall! What’s a Randall? is a question some of you are asking yourselves. When you Google “Randall Beers,” here is the description you’ll find: “Randall is an organoleptic hop transducer module, a double-chamber filter that you connect to a tap of your favorite beer and fill with flavor-enhancing ingredients.” In layman’s terms, that means you can fill this (pictured below) with anything you can think of and mix it with any beer you can think of.
Goodlife is going to use the Randall as a promotional and educational tool by bringing it to tap takeovers, beer festivals, beer weeks, etc. The portable Randall will be filled with local grown hops, fruits, peppers, coffee beans, or herbs and filled with whatever beer we/you want to use! In addition to the portable Randall, GoodLife Brewing will be installing a permanent Randall in its Bier Hall starting the 2nd week of September. The brewery plans on rotating and infusing our flagship, seasonal, and specialty beers with anything they can find to put through the Randall.
