10 Barrel Brewing’s Big Daddy Fresh Hop Beer Now Available

Though the day is late and leaves are turning golden, 10 Barrel Brewing Co. is rolling out Big Daddy Fresh, a fresh hop pale ale. Big Daddy Fresh is available on draught throughout Oregon, California, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington but will not last long.

Jimmy Seifrit, 10 Barrel’s brewmaster (aka “The Boss”), and brewer Ben Shirley drove from Bend to Southern Oregon at 3AMto pick up 600 pounds of fresh Centennial Hops, from Umpqua Hop Farms.

They then raced back to Bend and got their harvest into the hop back within a handful of hours of being cut. Then the guys borrowed a technique from Breakside Brewery by freezing the fresh hops with liquid nitrogen, before crushing them and adding them to the tanks.
