Perennial Ales Release Parties for Abraxas and Collaboration with The Commons

St. Louis, Missouri’s Perennial Artisan Ales launched distribution to the Portland area recently through Running Man Distributing, but is due to make a real splash in December with Abraxas and a collaboration with The Commons Brewery. Ok, here we go!

Abraxas is Perennial’s much desired Imperial Stout brewed with ancho chili peppers, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and cinnamon sticks. It’s released annually and this will be Oregon’s first chance at it. Here are a list of all the events to kick off Perennial’s busy December.

  • Dec 2nd – Draft launch of Abraxas at NWIPA: with Abraxas, Vanilla Abraxas & Coffee Abraxas (NWIPA created an event already on FB).
  • Dec 3rd – Bottle Release of Abraxas at Belmont Station, featuring Abraxas 2014 on draft
  • Dec 7th – Release of Meriwether at Baileys Taproom.  Meriwether is the collaboration between The Commons and Perennial.  The details on the beer are listed below as published by the Perennial Brewery

The Commons Brewery and Perennial Artisan Ales collaboration — Meriwether

“In the spirit of collaboration, we used a blend of our house yeast strains to create a classic saison, a style at the core of both of our breweries. In the glass, Meriwether appears pale gold with tightly beaded white foam. We dry-hopped the beer with German Hallertau hops to provide bright lemon and herbal aromatics. The hop character carries through on the palate and into the finish, complementing the clean Pilsner malt and touch of sweet wheat underneath. Dry and minerally with a lively effervescence, this beer is great on its own, or would pair expertly with cheese courses and a variety foods on your holiday table. Drink with friends.”
