From the Woods Barrel-aged Beer Fest at Plank Town Brewing

Plank Town Brewing Co. in Springfield, Oregon (right outside of Eugene) is holding “From the Woods Fest” a barrel-aged beer event, this Saturday, December 12th, from 12-9pm, and we have the full beer and cider list.
The lineup includes house brewed by Planktown beers as well as guest brews from breweries all over the state. A $10 entry comes with a specialty glass, 3 pour tickets, and discounts on food.

Plank Town – Barrel-Aged Blue Pool Pilsner
Our Blue Pool Pilsner aged in rye whiskey barrels, adding a smooth new depth & complexity 5%/30
Plank Town – Foggy Scotsman Porter
A variety of malt, dark chocolate, honey, ripe figs, coffee, and a hint of smokiness.  Aged in rye whiskey barrels adds roasted depth to this Scottish-style porter. 6.2%/ 25 IBU
Oakshire – Leftorium
Flanders Red Ale, a blend aged in Cabernet, Pinot Noir barrels, and fresh ale 6.7%/12 IBU
Hop Valley – Oakeroo
Limited winter seasonal aged in bourbon barrels from Heaven Hill distillery takes on flavors of bourbon, and vanilla, while bringing out slight chocolate notes from the roasted malts.  7.5%/45 IBU
Santiam Brewing – Pirate Stout
Smooth and rich, dessert in a glass. This rum barrel aged coconut stout is a true crowd winner with four peoples choice awards under its sash! 8%/59 IBU
Viking Braggot – Zombee Midnight Mash
Old ale made overnight with a whole bee hive including honey, mostly blackberry, honeycomb, pollen, propolis, and even dead bees.  Copper in color, has a dry tart flavor with hints of oak from being aged in a King Estate pinot noir barrel.  ABV 8.2% IBU ~18
Plank Town – Barrel-Aged Streetcar Stout (on Cask)
Dark and rich with flavors of roasted cocoa, dark chocolate, and caramel.  Barrel-aging adds layers of rye and vanilla to this complex brew.  Deep flavor with a smooth finish.  8.5%/30 IBU
Agrarian Ales – One Pink Banana (on Nitro)
This is a rye whiskey barrel aged imperial porter with pumpkins and one Pink Banana Squash – 8.8%
Vagabond Brewing – Bourbon Barrel Shackelton’s Imp. Stout
Our Imperial Stout aged in 4 Spirits Bourboan Barrels, showcases chocolate, coffee and vanilla flavors melded in harmony with one another. 9.1% / 67 IBU
Plank Town – Barrel-Aged Unobtainium
Limited release double IPA.  With its pounding hop flavor and a Pandora’s box of Maris Otter and Crystal malts, this elixir has hints of honey, caramel, and dried fruit. 9.4%/100+ IBU
Plank Town – Barrel-Aged Hobbit’s Little Helper
A rich, deep mahogany ale with a spicy ripe cherry nose and a long, warming finish.  Gently swirl and savor the complex, intense flavors of rye whiskey and apricot.  9.7%/42 IBU
Stickmen Brewing – Old Willy Weller
An Old Ale brewed with an array of roasted malts and molasses. Aged for 9 months in a freshly emptied Old Weller whisky barrel. Has well integrated notes of chocolate, caramel, oak, and spice. 10.5%/55 IBU
Plank Town – Mont Baldywine *Special Release
This very special barrel-aged barleywine has a bright, fruity tartness with warm spiced oak and a long, dry, creamy caramel finish. 10.5%/78 IBU
Oregon Trail Brewing – Perpetual Harmonium
Brown Ale blend from beer aged in second run bourbon barrels, Pinot Noir barrels, and Roselear yeast/bacteria blend.  Reminiscent of the Olde Bruin style such as Rodenbach from Roselear, Belgium. 6.6%/25IBU
Nectar Creek – TRIPLE BRETT MEAD
Made with carrot blossom honey from Madras, fermented with three types of brettanomyces and aged in Pinot Noir Barrels .  Super floral aroma with notes of honeysuckle and jasmine.  6%
Wildcraft – Pinot Noir Barrel-Aged Tart Cherry Cider – 7.6%
