3rd Annual NW Coffee Beer Invitational

2016 NW Coffee Beer Invitational Fest

Dave Fleming, Jean Fleming and the Goose Hollow Inn’s annual NW Coffee Beer Invitational festival has become one of my favorite little-known events of the year and is returning Saturday, January 30th. This small beer fest features a dozen or so breweries chosen by Dave to brew a coffee beer for the fest, and, refreshingly, many of this year’s offerings are not the typical coffee stouts and porters.

Sixteen talented brewers were asked to create freshly-brewed beer made with locally-roasted coffee. With the emphasis on flavors, and an ABV of 7% or less, this event promises to surprise us with both provocative and inspired combinations. Past styles have included IPA, Vienna Lager, Breakfast Stout, Baltic Porter, and even a Berliner Weisse!

Held in the tented parking lot around Goose Hollow Inn in close-in Southwest Portland, this year’s NW Coffee Beer Invitational is sponsored by Ristretto Roasters, Willamette Valley Hops, and the Goose Hollow Inn. Entrance fee is $15 for a custom branded glass and 8 taster tickets.

Participating breweries:
10 Barrel Brewing • 54˚40′ Brewing • Buoy Beer Company • Burnside Brewing Co • Cascade Brewing • The Commons Brewery• Deschutes Brewing • Double Mountain Brewery & Taproom • Everybody’s Brewing • Feckin Irish Brewing Co.• Fire on the Mountain Brewing • Gigantic Brewing Company • Lompoc Beer • Lucky Labrador Brew Pub • Pints Brewing • Widmer Brothers Brewing
