Portland Cider Co. has been one of the top local cideries to ride a big wave of success over the last few years, the company is opening a new production facility and taproom in Clackamas on April 1-2, 2016. The New School first broke the news of a new cidery in Oregon City called Portland Cider Co. in November 2012, and about 3 years later the company opened a Cider House on SE Hawthorne. After just about 4 years, the original Oregon City location is moving into a larger production space and tasting room in Clackamas.
The new Portland Cider Co. location will feature a new, larger production facility with a traditional tap room with games like shuffleboard and darts.
To celebrate the opening of the new location on April 1st and 2nd, Portland Cider Co. will have two limited release ciders, food trucks and live music on both Friday and Saturday nights.
More from a press release:
Local bands performing include Friday night entertainment from Tin Silver, Yonder Blue, and Bird on a Capo, with a Saturday night highlight performance from The Domestics, with opening acts by Rare Diagram and Nicolai Carrera. All entertainment is free of charge. Portland Cider will have two limited release ciders on tap, including a unique blend of cider infused with spicy chai tea leaves. With plentiful food to choose from at the food carts, and cider flowing all night long with live tunes, it’s going to be a rocking grand opening celebration.
“This is a big move for our company” says founder, Jeff Parrish. “We are very excited for our new location with its fantastic exposure along I-205, which will undoubtedly draw people’s attention to our new taproom. The additional space will allow us to offer regular music events as well as a limited food menu. We are all looking forward to this weekend so we can share all our hard work and enjoy the night with our fellow cider enthusiasts.”
The Clackamas taproom will feature twelve taps where customers can enjoy an assortment of Portland Cider Company ciders on tap, including the flagship flavors, Kinda Dry, Sorta Sweet, Pearfect Perry, and Hop’rageous. In addition to these popular flavors, the company also offers seasonal varieties. Currently those include Mojito, Maui Cruiser and Passion Fruit. Unique to the Clackamas location, there will also be four rotating local craft beers on tap. The tap room will be open from noon until 8 pm Sunday through Thursday and noon until 10 pm Friday and Saturday.
The Portland Cider Company has another location, the Portland Cider House, in Portland’s Hawthorne District, which offers 28 ciders on tap to the public. Bottled and canned ciders are available in Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and California.
