One of Portland’s newest breweries, Montavilla Brew Works, has collaborated with one of the most underrated pizza joints in town, East Glisan Pizza Lounge, on a beer made for Portland Pizza Week. Fat Tribble session IPA is designed to pair well with pizza, warm weather, and the original Star Trek series!
Portland Pizza Week, presented by the Portland Mercury, kicked off on Monday and runs through April 24 with special $2 slices at participating locations.
The Montavilla Brew Works Fat Tribble session IPA is brewed with 10% flaked triticale from Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods that adds a subtle creamy (wheat) and spicy (rye) flavor. It’s hopped with Horizon, Cascade, and Crystal hops from Indie Hops for a green floral, herbal, spicy, and citrusy aroma. Available now at East Glisan and on tap at MBW this Wednesday at 3pm. *no tribbles were harmed during the brewing of this beer*

East Glisan’s #portlandpizzaweek special is a “tomatillo cream sauce, pickled jalapeño peppers, roasted mushrooms, and fresh oregano and cilantro, East Glisan Pizza Lounge’s Pizza Week slice is making a strong case for it to stay on the menu forever. Dreamt up by new Chef Kyle Munroe, the Montaverde’s base lends citrus-tinged decadence to the pop of pepper and plump mushrooms, and we suggest you kick it up even more with their house chili oil,” says the Portland Mercury.
