Royale, Melvin, The Commons Release Collaboration 1997

1997-the-first-twenty

Did you know the founders of Melvin Brewing, Royale Brewing, and The Commons once all lived together? Last October they got back together to collaborate on a beer to celebrate twenty years of friendship called 1997 – The First Twenty.

Brewed at Royale Brewing in Portland, “1997 – The First Twenty” is a 10.7%ABV Belgian Strong Ale, dry-hopped with Citra. Tasting notes: Bold and complex fruity aromas range from tropical fruit, citrus, dried cherry, rose, and prunes. Candied fruit and baked bread flavors. Deceptively smooth and drinkable. Super dry finish, with slight lingering warmth. (B63 Monastic Yeast) 32 IBU ; 11 SRM

1997 – The First Twenty will be released this Wednesday, January 11th at the Royale Garrison Tap Room located at 8773 N Lombard in downtown historic St Johns, and look for 22oz bottles at Portland area grocery stores and bottle shops.
