Gigantic Brewing Releases MASSIVE! Bourbon Barrel Aged Beer

Today, Friday February 17th, Gigantic Brewing in Portland is releasing MASSIVE! Bourbon Barrel Aged Barleywine.  MASSIVE 2016 has aged almost 2 years in Kentucky Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels.

MASSIVE barleywine is made from straight, light, honey-like British Golden Promise malt but then boiled for eight hours to intensify and carmelize the wort. The result is a deep ruby in color, richly malty beer that then picks up notes of maple, burnt toffee, plum, boysenberry, vanilla, and spicy wood after the time spent in barrels.

There will be 22oz bottles available, as well as a limited amount on tap at Gigantic.
