Three Magnets Brewing of Olympia, Washington, is arguably the best brewery to open outside of Seattle in Washington in the last ten or so years. Recently, Three Magnets Brewing announced it is introducing 16oz cans, making the brewery’s beers easier to find, carry, and consume. Three Magnets makes some great farmhouse beers, but you wouldn’t know it from the initial hoppy can lineup. The first can releases are for Mount Kenya IPA, Sunstorm IPA and Rainstorm IPA.

MOUNT KENYA IPA – 6.2% abv, 45ibu
Creating a base IPA for a world class coffee takes balance and subtlety. In an effort to allow the Kenyan Gaturiri coffee to shine, complementary hop additions of German Hallertau Blanc, Mosaic, and Austrailian Topaz create a tropical, vinious character. The coffee’s inherent characteristics are subtle when consumed cold, and become much more pronounced as the beer reaches 50 degrees and above.

SUNSTORM IPA – 6.3% abv, 50ibu
Citrus and the rare taste of Pacific NW sunshine are the inspiration for this stormy (hazy) beer. Washington 2-Row, NW White Wheat and Flaked Oats compose the malt bill, but its the hops that give this beer it’s namesake – Citra, Chinook and Centennial, which combine to create a sip of soft fizzy sunshine.

RAINSTORM IPA – 7.1% abv, 50ibu
Tropical fruit, berry, and resin are abound in this stormy (hazy) version of one of our flagship beers, 3Mag Rain IPA. Washington 2-Row and German Toasted Wheat Malts and Flaked Oats create a full body with a smooth mouthfeel. NW Classic Cascade and Centennial Hops in the whirlpool, and dry hop additions of Mosaic and Centennial make for a dank, savory experience.
