Double Mountain Beer Dinner at Skamania Lodge

Rural PNW getaway spot Skamania Lodge is hosting Double Mountain Brewery for the next “Dine and Hops” beer dinner series on Saturday, June 16th. Located in the Columbia River Gorge in Stevenson, Washington, the Skamania Lodge has become a nearby destination spot for relaxation and craft beers. Skamania Lodge Chef Matt Hale and the team at Double Mountain created a delicious five-course food-beer pairing menu—including beer can chicken–for this event. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with first course served at 6:30 p.m.

More from a press release:

“Double Mountain beers have been a staple on our menu for various reasons, including their excellent array of beers, from IPAs to sours and stouts,” said Chef Hale. “Double Mountain also has a strong Gorge following, so we’re very excited about this one,” said Chef Hale.

The five-course beer-food menu kicks off at 6pm with passed light hors d’oeuvres. The dinner will begin promptly at 6:30pm. Chef Hale will get to pick from among the bounty of fruits and vegetables that summer has to offer to pair alongside an eclectic mix of Double Mountain staples as well as some specialty beers. Tickets are 75$ (gratuity included) and can be purchased on Eventbrite (guests must be 21+); you’ll also get a commemorative pint glass to take home.

Food-beer pairings for the evening are as follows:

First course:

Food: Scallop Crudo with lemon oil, sun choke chips, NOBO greens

Beer: Double Mountain Pilsner

Second Course:

Food: Compressed Melon Salad; prosciutto, Cloud 9 goat cheese, chive olive oil, basil

Beer: Sluice Box Common Ale

Third Course: Pale Death Granita (palate cleanser)

Beer: Pale Death – Belgian Style Imperial IPA

Fourth Course:

Fifth Course:

This is the second in Skamania Lodge’s ongoing Dine and Hops beer dinner series; the series kicked off earlier this year with Backwoods Brewing Co.
