First look at Baerlic Brewing's new Halsey Beer Hall at the Barley Pod

Baerlic Brewing opened their first and flagship location in June of 2014 and four years later has now opened a second location with a new concept in Northeast Portland at 60th and Halsey.  The new Baerlic Beer Hall Halsey spot is built as the centerpiece of a new food cart pod ran by Baerlic and called "The Barley Pod." We first reported Baerlic Brewing would open a NE Halsey location almost exactly a year ago. As usual, things took longer than expected but now the four year old brewery has a new taproom and beer garden and one of the more interesting food cart pods around town.[gallery columns="2" ids="28968,28967"]The Barley Pod is home to eight carts currently (soon to be ten), and features some already established and well loved food trucks. Some of the exciting lineup of food carts include Hapa PDX (Ramen), Namu (Korean/Hawaiian), Bam Pow! Burgers, Bing Mi (Chinese crepes) and Smakken Waffle Sandwiches (Dutch-style waffles). All are placed around the corner lot with Baerlic Brewing Beer Hall in the center, a beery oasis to enjoy a beer and your food from any of the carts inside. Yes, it's all-ages, kid friendly from opening at noon until 9pm, adult only until 10pm.[gallery ids="28972,28970,28969"]Baerlic Halsey Beer Hall is a small but bright and airy spot, similar in design to the original location with even more windows. Roll-up glass doors provide seated bar views outside and a handful of stools to belly up to the bar. Twenty taps will be pouring with just over ten of them Baerlic beers as well as two guest ciders, a kombucha tap and soon a wine tap and nitro coffee. They feature Baerlic Brewing 16oz cans and 32oz Crowlers to-go. They plan to add more non-alcoholic beverages in cans and bottles.Snap up a can of Baerlic Rose City Park Pale Ale while you can, now available in 16oz  packaging and 4-packs. This is the official beer of the new Baerlic Brewing NE Halsey spot and named after their new neighborhood - Rose City Park. This beer may become a regular draft-only offering limited to the new Halsey pub if everything works out.Baerlic Brewing opens this week after their final health inspection. They had a pre-party earlier this week but regular hours which are noon-10pm, 7 days a week have not yet kicked off. By then a backyard covered and heated tent should be in place for year round eats and drinks.
