Hopworks Announces Barrel-Aged Beer Holiday Releases & New Food Menu

Hopworks Urban Brewery is releasing ots annual Barrel-Aged Motherland Russian Imperial Stout in cans for the first time and following it up with more barrel-aged and winter holiday draft-only releases. Set your calendars for December 5th for Motherland 16oz cans in 4-packs and draft Straight Up Cashmere. More draft only exclusives will follow on December 12th when the brewery drops Barrel-Aged Morning Vibes and then Yule Only Live Once & That Holiday Cake Dough.

We are also excited to see that the food menu at the flagship Hopworks SE Powell pub is getting an update. It’s a much needed refresh that includes healthier options like Syncline Bowl, Moab Bowl, Sedona Bowl and Apple & Nut Salad. For vegans, there are now Gardein Meatless Chick’n Strips.

For those who love gluten as much as we do, HUB is now making its own breads for sandwiches and has new options for us meat and cheese lovers like Cheese Curds, The Philly-HUBster Pizza, and HUB Beer Steak. See the full new food menu here.

DEC 5 – 5PM – Beer Release Party for Barrel-Aged Motherland + Straight Up Cashmere

We are excited to release a VERY LIMITED number of 16oz. 4-packs of our Barrel-Aged Motherland! These are priced at $24 per 4 pack and we only made 40 cases total. We are dividing these between our three pubs. The beer will also be on tap at our two Portland pubs and will eventually hit the taplines in Vancouver.

Barrel-Aged Motherland Russian Imperial Stout – We aged our darkest winter beer for more than a year in a selection of Bourbon barrels. Motherland is dark as a moonless Siberian winter’s night but warming enough to weather it. Bittersweet chocolate flavors mingle with deep fig and plum fruitiness, as well as oak and vanilla notes from the barrel-aging process. A gentle heat and spiciness linger long on the palate, leaving you craving more of the sweet warmth of the Motherland. 10.2% ABV. Available in limited 4-packs and on tap.

Straight Up Cashmere Chocolate Orange Stout – Inspired by holiday chocolate oranges, this strong stout is velvety smooth from an excessive use of oats, creamy with chocolate, and slightly citrusy from the addition of orange zest. 7.8% ABV. Available only on tap.

DEC 12 – Beer Release Party for Barrel-Aged Morning Vibes

Barrel-Aged Morning Vibes – A whiskey-soaked version of our Win-Win series beer, Morning Vibes. Originally released in Feb 2018, Morning Vibes is a collaboration with Nossa Familia (a fellow B Corp), using their organic coffee. We added cocoa and lactose to make a rich, silky beer which was then aged for 8 months in variety of bourbon barrels. This Barrel-aged Imperial Stout, will warm your soul like the first sweet sips of a spiked latte. Available only on tap.

DEC 19- Beer Release Party for Yule Only Live Once & That Holiday Cake Dough

Yule Only Live Once – Imperial Dessert Beer modeled after Panettone Italian Christmas cake. Strong Ale, creamy and rich from lactose, with a plethora of dried cherries, apricots, prunes, raisins and lemon zest. 13% ABV – Available only on tap.

That Holiday Cake Dough – Big and sweet dessert beer with fruit cake added. Malt flavors of raisins, molasses, toffee and bread mingle with dried cherries, candied pineapple, orange, cinnamon and a hint of ginger. 9% ABV – Available only on tap.
