StormBreaker Brewing’s 5th annual Brewstillery Fest

StormBreaker Brewing hosts the 5th annual edition of their popular Brewstillery Fest this Saturday, February 23rd from Noon to 8pm. This unique event is one of the more creative fests around town in that it pairs twenty-one local breweries with twenty local distilleries for a mash-up of beer and spirits. You can still purchase advanced general admission tickets or VIP session tickets and we even have a promo code for $5 off online sales only with code: beerandwhiskey5. Advanced ticket sales end at 10am on Saturday.

Stormbreaker is tenting off half of Beech St between Mississippi Ave and Albina for the fest. No need to worry about the weather with full rain coverage and outdoor heaters. They also will have bands playing all day and a portion of the proceeds goes to Dollar For Portland.

StormBreaker Brewing and Westward Whiskey teamed up to join the support of Sierra Nevada’s Resilience IPA to support those impacted by the Camp fire. Over 1,400 breweries brewed their version of Resilience IPA, where 100% of proceeds go towards the fund. But only one, aged that beer in Westward Whiskey barrels. This one of a kind beer will be debuted at Brewstillery Fest with 100% of the proceeds going toward the fund!

Advanced Regular Admission is $25. Includes festival beer tasting glass and 10 tickets.

Advanced VIP tickets are $45. Includes festival whiskey snifter, festival beer tasting glass, 15 tickets, and early entry and mingle with makers such as Bull Run, Rose City Distilling, StormBreaker and more!

Here are some of the brewery/distillery pairings you can look forward to:

Pono / Engenho Buriti: Amigos e Amigas
Beer: Three Amigos ABV: 5.7% IBU: 18
Spirit: Dona Branca 84 Proof
Description: You’ll love joining this group of friends, start with Three Amigos
Mexican style Lager and see how they draw out the sweet side of Dona Branca “pure
white”, our Brazilian cachaça lady friend. Returning to the Amigos you may notice
more complexity and the subtle side being drawn out. Get another round and just
mix the two together – what would you call that?

Rogue / Rogue: The Filbert in the Rye
Beer: Hazelnut Brown Nectar ABV: 5.6% IBU: 33
Spirit: Oregon Rye Malt Whiskey 80 Proof
Description: Sip the Hazelnut Brown Nectar first, followed by the Oregon Rye Malt
Whiskey. The subdued spiciness of the malted rye enhances the sweetness from the
roasted malts in the beer. The two combined create a chocolate and hazelnut candy
bar flavor that coats your palate and leaves you craving more.

Great Notion / Freeland Spirits: Blueberry Gin Smash!
Beer: Blueberry Muffin Sour Ale ABV: 5.5% IBU: 0
Spirit: Freeland Gin 90 Proof
Description: A sweet and tart ale that will remind you of blueberry muffins paired
with a garden fresh gin full of complexity, spice, and herbaceous goodness! Sip one
to get fruit, the other for spice and herbs. As the taste lingers on your palate, close
your eyes, and it will perhaps remind you of a sunny day in the garden!

Ecliptic / Bull Run: Peach For The Stars
Beer: Whiskey Barrel-Aged Carina Peach Sour Ale ABV: 5.5% IBU: 10
Spirit: BRD Single Malt Whiskey 89 Proof
Description: Loaded with fresh peach flavor, Carina is a sour ale perfect for any time
of year. This version was aged in a Bull Run Distillery 4yr Single Malt Whiskey
barrel resulting in flavors of subtle oak and light acidity.

Migration / Wanderback: Migrate & Wander
Beer: Lager Back ABV: 4.5% IBU: 15
Spirit: Wanderback Batch No.1 American Single Malt Whiskey 90 Proof
Description: For this year’s Brewstillery event Migration teamed up with
Wandeback’s Batch No. 1 whiskey. Our light, low bitterness and easy drinking lager
is a great compliment between sips of the rich flavors of toffee, hazelnut, all spice,
sandalwood and star fruit of the whiskey. This classic pairing of a whiskey / beer
back is at its best with two craft producers.

Lompoc / Stein: Rhythm and Blues
Beer: 2017 Franc’ly Brewdolph ABV: 7.7% IBU: 30
Spirit: Raspberry Cordial 40 Proof
Description: This Belgian style Red ale was aged in Maryhill Winery Cabernet Franc
barrels for 11 months. It has an oaky aroma with a mild fruitiness finishing with a
spicy clove flavor. Paired with Stein Distillery’s Raspberry Cordial, showing off a
fruity overload of the strong raspberry sweet-tart making this a perfect dessert
combination after the big meal at the dinner table.

StormBreaker / Rose City Distilling: Brewstillatron
Beer: Peter Haze-rial Brewstillery 5 IPA ABV: 6.5% IBU: 44
Spirit: Rose City Citrus Vodka 70 Proof
Description: We encourage you to pour the Citrus Vodka into the Hazy IPA. This
will unleash a mighty botanical juice robot in your glass. The bright, tropical notes
from the hazy will waft from the pairing, and the citrus vodka will provide a punchy,
swirl of fruit to line the palate. Beware of its dangerous drinkability. Citrus here,
citrus there, citrus citrus EVERYWHERE!
