Portland, Oregon’s Gigantic Brewing Company is opening a second taproom in the Montavilla neighborhood at 6935 NE Glisan. Gigantic is joining one of the latest adaptive reuse projects from Portland’s Guerilla Development called Rocket Empire Machine. The new project will include four permanent food vendors and the Gigantic Satellite at Rocket Empire Machine (‘Gigantic Satellite’ for short). The new Gigantic Satellite taproom space will inhabit approximately 650 square feet of the re-development. Like similar Guerilla projects The Ocean and The Zipper, there will be large common indoor and outdoor seating areas in addition to the bar space.

“I am stoked that Gigantic has this opportunity to become part of a different Portland neighborhood–one that I happen to call home. Gigantic Satellite is only 4 blocks from my house, so you will see me hanging out there a lot,” says Ben Love, Brewmaster and co-owner of Gigantic Brewing. “With any luck, we’ll bring a little bit of the magic that is our current SE Portland tap room up to North Tabor. And with the four food vendors on site, people will finally be allowed to bring their kids to Gigantic (Satellite),” added Van Havig, Gigantic co-owner and Master Brewer.

Construction on the former auto engine repair space is currently underway with a projected completion date of December 2019. The auto repair shop had a name that was too good to die–Rocket Empire Machine. Guerilla Development decided to keep the name for the building. The Gigantic Brewing Company beer served at Gigantic Satellite will come from the original brewery and taproom location at 5224 SE 26th Ave in the Reed Neighborhood.

Gigantic Brewing Company is a Portland, Oregon based small craft brewery
that has been in business since 2012.
