Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB), the first Certified B Corporation brewery in the Pacific Northwest, has announced it will honor mug club memberships from recently closed breweries, cideries, and bars in the Portland area.
Founded by David Sanguinetti and brewer Charlie Van Meter, Allegory makes a tremendous range of styles from lagers and IPA’s to farmhouse, wild ales and fruited beers.
“Just over two years ago in the summer of 2017 we were frantically trying to finish buildout of the brewery. Sustaining ourselves on a constant intake of coffee and burritos we were able to fire up the brewhouse for the first time on the day of the solar eclipse in 2017,” says Sanguinetti.
Among the first beers brewed at Allegory Brewing was an odd one, a fresh hop lactobacillus sour ale using Crosby Farms centennial hops that was named FRESH PINTS!!! in tribute to the Dave Grohl “Fresh pots!!!” music video. “Look it up, seriously. Apparently you can OD on caffeine and we definitely seemed to be trying the same during that time,” says Sanguinetti.
Nearly 200 different beers later, Allegory Brewing has brewed FRESH PINTS!!! again for release at the 2nd Anniversary Party on September 7th.
Come have a pint along with beers from the cellar, slushy versions of fruited sours, live music from Cedar Teeth, special food from Chapparo’s Papuseria and more.
