More than 70 Oregon breweries and cideries are now doing home beer delivery across the state Breweries and bars are struggling to stem the bleeding inflicted by COVID-19 virus and the mandated government shutdown of most of the service industry.
Two of Oregon’s most award-winning brewers collaborated together in Bend, Oregon when Sunriver Brewing Co. hosted Von Ebert Brewing’s Sam Pecoraro. The collaboration born from this meeting hop masterminds is Prospectivus IPA, and it will be released in Portland on February 19th at Lombard House pub and at Bend’s On Tap on February 21st.
Prospectivus IPA showcases a love for all things hoppy. Bursting with complexity, this beer has a distinct resinous pine backbone with layers of berries, peaches and tropical fruit. The hops being showcased in this IPA are Simcoe, Mosaic, Columbus, Galaxy, and Mosaic Cryo. The beers stats are 7.5% ABV and 80 IBU’s.
“Both brewing teams have a love for all things hoppy.”, says Brett Thomas, Director of Brewing Operations for Sunriver Brewing Co. “The result of this shared vision is an absolutely killer West Coast IPA that has the perfect balance of dank and tropical hop character.” “This collaboration was a tremendous effort from two of Oregon’s award-winning independent craft breweries.”
“To the Von Ebert Brewing team, collaborations are about innovation, reflection, the sharing of information, and most importantly making friends and having fun.”, says Samuel Pecoraro, Head Brewer Pearl. “We can’t think of many breweries we’d rather do all of those things with than Sunriver Brewing, an elite player in America’s IPA scene. A West Coast IPA was a natural choice – notable bitterness and aggressive flavor/aroma laid over a complementary grain bill are all concepts we love to get behind.”
Prospectivus IPA will be released in Oregon at all three of Sunriver Brewing’s pubs and at Von Ebert’s Pearl location in late February. Outside of the brewery’s pubs, release events are scheduled in Portland at the Lombard House on February 19th and in Bend at On Tap on February 21st.
About Sunriver Brewing Company Sunriver Brewing Company’s pub in the Village at Sunriver opened to rave reviews in the summer of 2012. Since that time, Sunriver Brewing Company has garnered many national and international awards for their craft beer. In February of 2016, Sunriver opened its second pub location on Galveston Avenue in Bend Oregon. The year of 2017 included a major national accomplishment with winning Small Brewing Company of the Year at the Great American Beer Festival. In 2019 Sunriver opened their third pub in the Oakway Center located in Eugene, Oregon.
