Brian Koch is the owner of North Portland’s Lombard House pub, and like many others he is grappling with a pandemic, a pivot to delivery, and worldwide protests of an unjust system that have implications far more important than beer and bars.
For those south of Portland thirsty for fresh, local beer, check out some of the following options in Oregon City and Milwaukie. You know the drill by now: take out or delivery only. As you also know, things are changing rapidly so check in with each of these places before ordering or visiting. Stay safe.
Oregon City Brewing has launched its Social Distancing BOGO Sale. Visit here and enter coupon code BOGO at checkout to get 50% off any order $16+ Orders are ready for pickup on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3pm-6pm through their patio window.
“We have kegs, upon kegs, upon kegs that normally would be self-distributed to partnering bars and restaurants or served at our brewpub. Now we are running a sale like no other to bring a little joy to the community and hopefully keep the brewery running,” say OCB.
For now they’re going to be open for pick-up from 3-8 pm, and adjust if needed as they go. They’ll offer pre-filled growlers available of popular draft items, and are “looking into ways to streamline ordering as well. We have always had a diligent cleaning regimen and we will continue to provide excellent beer in a clean and safe environment… just to go.”
Hillock Brewing is working together with Shattered Oak Brewing, filling cans for beer to go at The Hive Taphouse. They’ve also set up online ordering to pre order anything on tap at The Hive so it’s ready when you arrive. They’ve also discounted the normal price of the cans and are giving out coupons for the next visit/pick up. “We are planning on doing delivery to Oregon City soon and will add that option to the site as well. We are grateful for the local support of our community.”
Bent Shovel Brewing are filling Crowler cans only. (As an added measure of safety, they will not be filling customer’s growlers). Visit their secure BEER TO GO! portal (which is updated with what’s available, even upcoming new releases) and place your order. They’ll receive your order, make your cans, and have them ready for you to pick up. They’re limiting hours for BEER TO GO! to Fridays 3-6pm and Saturdays 12-3pm, no Sundays at this time. Order online here.
Their home delivery service is up and running. Visit here to order. Delivery hours will be 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week to Oregon City, West Linn and Gladstone. Great info here, just wanted to let everyone know that The Growler Run is also open noon – 8pm everyday. We’re filling 16 and 32oz crowlers as well as growlers. We’ve got rotating specials posted on Instagram and FB. We are extremely appreciative of the enormous amount of support we’ve seen so far from our customers, THANK YOU! We’re Oregon City’s original craft beer bar and we will get through this. FYI, a great way to support you favorite businesses is to buy gift cards in case you don’t really need more of their product or service.
