One of Oregon’s first breweries to take up direct to consumer beer delivery now has a new Pink Boots Society fundraiser beer in crowlers called ‘These Boots Are Made for Hoppin IPA.’ The latest release from Kosher-certified nano operation Leikam Brewing has tropical, citrus and piney aromas from the exclusive Yakima Chief 2020 Pink Boots hop blend of Azacca®, El Dorado®, Idaho Gem™ and Loral®.
More from press release:
Women make up less than 8% of all brewers in the United States’ independent beer scene, according to the latest gender demographic study released by the Brewers Association. But every March, ladies who work as brewers, beertenders, and in other roles across the beer industry join together across the world to celebrate International Women’s Month by brewing beer in support of the Pink Boots Society.
Leikam Brewing was one of several area locations hosting a brew day this year in the Portland area. Each location brewed its unique beer style featuring Yakima Chief Hops 2020 Pink Boots Collaboration Day blend. Leikam chose to make a West Coast IPA and is releasing These Boots Are Made for Hoppin’ IPA on this Saturday. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, instead of a collaborative release party with other area breweries, Leikam will be releasing their beer in crowlers available for delivery.
$1 of each Crowler sale is donated towards educational scholarships and programming for Pink Boots members on behalf of Leikam Brewing. Grab a crowler and toast to all the amazing women who are continuing to change the face of what beer is!
