Oskar Blues New Barrel Aged Beers Made With Spinbot 50000 Technology

Oskar Blues Brewery is launching a new series of barrel-aged beers made using Spinbot 5000 technology. The BA20 series, begins with All Monde, a new boubon barrel-aged stout with toasted almonds and vanilla beans. 12oz cans and 4-packs are rolling out nationwide now.

Oskar Blues has long been known for their now large production of Ten FIDY Imperial Stout but the BA20 series will allow them to showcase more small batch stuff. The use of the Spinbot 5000 is also said to add a significant level of depth that's hard to achieve otherwise. Spinbot is a double vortex infusion tank that was built out of a 7-bbl grundy vessel at Cigar City Brewing in Florida. Brewers fill the Spinbot full of special ingredients, may they be oak staves or almonds, then circulate the beer through the tank for hours or days for a maximum infusion transfer of flavor.

"The Spinbot 5000 is one of my greatest designs yet," said it's creator Jay Lesher, a master welder at Cigar City. Oskar Blues is the leading member of the CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective which includes Cigar City Brewing, Wasatch, Three Weavers and others. "It has changed the way we brewers look at flavoring beers in America," adds Lesher in comments made in 2018.

To make All Monde, BA20 Volume 1, the shiny new Spinbot is packed with toasted almonds and Madagascar vanilla beans. A big time imperial stout racked in bourbon barrels for nine oaky months is swirled through until the nutty and sweet flavors are maximized to their full potential. The result is a barrel aged imperial stout with the toasty almond and vanilla flavor dials turned to eleven.

For this new series, Oskar Blues diverges from their classic can designs, calling on trippy illustrations in earthy tones, accented by gold lids. Melty, psychedelic figures groove together around a jumble of vanilla flowers and almonds - a hint at the beer’s all-star ingredients.

All Monde is the first of four volumes in the series to be released in 2020, all of which will revolve around barrel-aged boldness and choice ingredients. Future entries in the BA20 Series will be announced later this year. In the meantime, look for All Monde on shelves nationwide in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans starting now.
