The much talked about Athletic Brewing Company, has expanded their distribution to the pacific northwest by purchasing and reviving a former Ballast Point brewhouse in San Diego, CA. Conneticut-based Athletic Brewing is arguably the leader in health conscious, low calorie, zero alcohol craft beer. Based on samples we have received, it’s by far the best non-alcoholic beer on the market.
The purchase of Ballast Point’s production facility last year will increase Athletic Brewing’s capacity tenfold. The major jump in production means Athletic beers will be available in Oregon and Washington via Columbia Distributing. A California launch party will take place in San Diego at a “drive-through” event in the brewery parking lot, more details announced on that soon.
More from a press release:
“Athletic Brewing is on a mission to make the beers that we, as craft beer lovers, want to drink. We are consistently delivering quality and innovation in our non-alcoholic craft beers to meet the demands of modern life,” said Bill Shufelt, co-founder of Athletic Brewing Company. “Since we brewed our first can, we said ‘Brew Without Compromise’ – we proudly make non-alcoholic beer that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with any top alcoholic beer in quality and taste. We are thrilled to be able to make beer on both coasts to better reach our growing community.”
Recent reports show U.S. consumers are making healthier lifestyle choices that are accelerating sales growth. According to a recent The Harris Poll survey commissioned by Athletic, nearly half of all Americans are exercising more often since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Using a revolutionary and proprietary process to brew its craft non-alcoholic beers, Athletic has rewritten the history of alcohol-free beer in America. Since launching in 2018, Athletic Brewing’s sales increased more than 1,000 percent and to more than 10,000 barrels in 2019. The San Diego brewery adds up to an additional 100,000 barrels in capacity.
Named by Fast Company magazine as one of the “World’s Most Innovative” companies in 2020, craft-beer fans can find Athletic Brewing’s revolutionary Upside Dawn Golden Ale, Run Wild IPA, Cerveza Atletica (Copper Ale) at major retailers such as Whole Foods, Total Wine and other local retailers. As a supplier of only non-alcoholic beer, Athletic also ships direct to consumers at www.athleticbrewing.com where craft beer lovers can purchase Athletic’s full portfolio of flagship, seasonal and specialty beers plus join the brewer’s subscription offering – The Athletic Club.
Athletic Brewing proudly donates two percent of all sales to trail and park cleanups through their “Two for the Trails” program and expects to contribute more than $150,000 to trails across the nation this year. In addition, Athletic Brewing is coming to the aid of its partners in the restaurant and bar community during the COVID-19 pandemic by committing $100,000 to the Restaurant Relief Fund.
“We know that brewing awesome non-alcoholic beer isn’t the only way our team can make a positive impact in people’s lives,” said Shufelt. “With Two for Trails and the Restaurant Relief Fund we think we can make an impact.”
At only 50-70 calories per can, Athletic Brewing Company brews non-alcoholic craft beer that is distributed nationwide. It can be found, purchased, and shipped directly to consumers online at https://athleticbrewing.com. With West Coast operations featuring a new high-speed canning line and hiring underway since February, the company is operating three weeks ahead of its original delivery schedule and has added local brewing jobs to an area already world-famous for great breweries.
