Mexican-style Dark Lager and Citra Leaf Pilsner join Chuckanut Brewing's Bottle Lineup

Bellingham, Washington's Chuckanut Brewing has been expanding their packaging program and just released 2 Amigos a Mexican-style Dark Lager and Citra Leaf Pilsner. Both beers are available in 500ml bottles in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia and join other regular bottled offerings like Vienna Lager for a limited time.

Chuckanut 2 Amigos Mexican Style Dark Lager

2 Amigos is a collaboration with the Skagit Valley College Brew Program known as Cardinal Brewing. Chuckanut operations manager Joe Heldt was a graduate of the Skagit Valley College brew program, and brewery owners Will and Mari Kemper are on the steering committee.

2 Amigos Mexican-style Dark Lager showcases Skagit Valley Malt, a locally grown grain that is malted just a block away from Cuckanut's South Nut brewery at the Port of Skagit. 2 Amigos follows a traditional Mexican-Style dark lager recipe. It’s an easy drinking beer with smooth flavors and an effervescent light body despite its dark color.

Chuckanut Citra Leaf Pilsner

Citra Leaf Pilsner is a new spin our Chuckanut’s classic flagship Pilsner recipe. Citra Leaf differs from the year-round Pils recipe in that they replace some of the classic European noble hops with with a large amount of Washington grown American Noble Citra Leaf Hops from Yakima Chief.

The American Noble Citra Leaf is different then the now popular Citra hop in that it is only the bract (or leafy part) of the hop cone not the lupulin glands. Citra Leaf Pilsner's old world noble hops with the American hop leaf melds together for notes of grapefruit, guava and spicy green bitterness.

Chuckanut Citra Leaf Pilsner is bright, golden, with a refreshing amount of citrus flavor and aroma with the brewery's typical dry finish.
