Deschutes Brewery Announces new Reserve Series, Sour Series & Collaborations

Deschutes Brewery has announced a bevvy of new beer news like a fruited rotating year-round Sour Series, a new Reserve Series barrel-aged beer called The Ages, new cans and much more. Look for cans of Pacific Wonderland Lager, Fresh Squeezed IPA and Mirror Pond Pale Ale in March. The sour series has already started with the release of Pear Bergamot Sour. Swivelhead Red is out in 6-packs of bottles this month. New collaboration beer Fresh Chair Northwest Pale Ale with Crux Fermentation Project is out in March and Humm Kombucha Radler collab follows it up in May. You also won't want to miss the new barrel-aged Reserve Series releases The Ages in April, along with the seasonal return of Twilight Ale.More details below.

An innovative and creative series of stainless, lacto soured beers that vary in the use of fruit, hops, spices and specialty ingredients, all maintain a harmonious and clean acidity ranging from mild to medium. This series combines two trends among craft beer consumers: an emerging interest in kettle sours and a movement toward fruit-flavored beers. This series delivers both in a distinctly Deschutes way that is culinary-inspired and truly unique. Pear Bergamot Sour Ale tasting notes include pear and citrus with a floral aroma. BOND STREET SERIES

COLLABORATIONS

 Fresh Chair Northwest Pale Ale When: MarchWhat: 30th Anniversary Collaboration with Crux Fermentation Project (draft only)In celebration of Deschutes Brewery’s 30th birthday, they’ve partnered with several Deschutes Brewery alumni to collaborate on seven exciting brews. The first debut includes former brew masters Larry Sidor and Cam O’Connor now of Crux Fermentation Project, in the creation of a perfect blend of award winning Fresh Squeezed IPA and Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale. Encompassing the popular hop varieties Citra, Mosaic and Centennial, a bright and bold hop aroma compliments a drinkable malt body. All proceeds from this beer will benefit restoration of streamflow and improved water quality in the Deschutes River Basin.

There’s moreDeschutes Brewery’s Black Butte Porter received a silver medal and Hop Henge Imperial IPA a bronze medal at the Best of Craft Beer Awards in their own backyard of Bend, OR. Congrats to our brewers! 2018 Medalists  $1,422,860 for nonprofits! Over its three-year run, Street Pub, Deschutes Brewery’s traveling pop-up pub visited 19 cities across the country, raising a total of $1,047,860 for nonprofits. The Street Pub welcomed more than 300,000 beer fans who turned out to drink over 2,800 kegs of damn tasty beer, all raising money for nonprofits in their hometowns.  Deschutes Brewery opens a kiosk in the Portland Airport: Next time you’re flying through Portland, Oregon, look for Deschutes beer at our new temporary kiosk in Concourse D. Plans to open a full pub at PDX are still on track for summer.
