Double Mountain Heirloom Pie Returns, Helles Bottle Release & PDX 2 Year Anniversary

Hood River based Double Mountain Brewery & Taproom is celebrating the 2nd anniversay of its Portland taproom and restaurant this Sunday, August 5th, and celebrating the return of the popular seasonal pizza Heirloom Pie and the new release Hood River Helles in bottles. All in all, the now 11 year old brewery has a lot to celebrate this week.Double Mountain's late summer seasonal Heirloom Pie is one of my favorite annual food items that many look forward to all year. This colorful, pesto based pizza is layered with mozzarella and fontal cheeses and then topped with a delicious colorful rainbow of heirloom tomatoes and finished with pecorino and parmigiano cheese. Heirloom Pie is available at both the Hood River and Portland locations of Double Mountain starting today, Friday, August 3rd.This Sunday is the 2-Year Anniversary celebration of Double Mountain PDX from noon to 6pm. The satellite location will feature music, games, a special firkin tapping, and a raffle. While you are there try the Le Domestique Grisette, one of our favorite beers from the Oregon Brewers Festival. Also DM recently released the annual sour cherry beers, Tahoma Kriek and Devil's Kriek. This year I am all about the blonde and juicy Tahoma Kriek! DM PDX is located at4336 SE Woodstock Blvd, Portland, OR 97206Double Mountain has just released seasonal favorite Hood River Helles in bottles for the first time, available at the brewery's taprooms and in the distribution footprint. Hood River Helles is the younger brother to the Pilsner; Helles is the Bavarian Lager beer that most dominates the region.  It is lighter than Pilsner, less bitter, more subtle, yet still bright and quaffable with a balanced and elegant hop character. 4.9% ABV, 30BUAbout Double Mountain Brewery and Taproom: Double Mountain Brewery and Taproom was established in 2007 in the heart of downtown Hood River, OR. Founder Matt Swihart opened the brewery with a clear mission: make great beer for craft beer fans. Their unique location lends to not only using pure and clean glacial water for their beers, but they also take advantage of regionally grown hops. With their reusable bottle program, customers love the softer environmental footprint and know they are part of a solution to sustainability. They can be found on tap and in bottles throughout the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. Learn more at  www.doublemountainbrewery.com
