Brewery/Beer List for this Weekend's Portland Nano Beer Fest

This Friday - Sunday, April 26-28th is the Nano Beer Fest in southwest Portland in the parking lot of John's Marketplace. Founded in 2008 and originally held at Max's Fanno Creek brewpub, the Nano Beer Fest has gone through a few iterations and arrived at its best self. Organizers Brandon Mikel and Chris Rhodes always manage to dig up some brand new nano breweries even I have never heard of, alongside other established nanos, which are tiny/small breweries often out the back of someones garage.

More from a press release:

With strong community support from home brewing clubs and supply companies like F.H. Steinbart, PDX Brewers Club and The Oregon Brew Crew, the Nano Beer Fest will continue to welcome new breweries every year. This year we have several new breweries joining the event and the NBF will again feature 50+ beers, made by some of the newest members of the local craft beer industry!

2018 Nano Beer Fest

This year, Loyal Legion is sponsoring a “People’s Choice,” where attendees vote for their top picks and Loyal Legion will bring in the top 10 on tap in May!

As part of the celebration of Nano brewers and their successes, in 2017 the NBF added an annual alumni invitee to the fest. The 2019 alumni brewer will be Shattered Oak. Shattered Oak has a firm footing in Oregon City with their Hive tap house and brewery.

Once again, the event will be held at John’s Marketplace, one of Portland’s finest beer stores and there will be food available from Urban German. There will be more vendors than ever including Beer Soap, CBD teas, leather goods, cycling outerwear, F.H. Steinbarts and more.

Individual participation cost is $20 for a keepsake logo glass and 10 beer tickets PLUS a special ticket to try a 3-way collaboration beer from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from the 2018 NBF judging.  1 ticket will yield one 2oz pour, 2 tickets a 4oz pour and 3 tickets will get a full pour (7oz).  Additional tickets will be available for purchase at $1.00 each. Friday and Saturday are 21+ and Sunday is all ages Family Day, so kids are welcome!

Advance ticket packages are available through www.nanobeerfest.com that will get attendees more for their money: $20 for glass, and 15 tickets + the bonus 3-way collab beer. Join us to celebrate these rising stars!
