Brewers Burger Brawl returns for Portland Beer Week
Portland Beer Week and Wayfinder Beer are bringing back an old popular pairing event previously held at The Hop & Vine with the help of Nicky Farms. The Brewers Burger Brawl originally debuted as one of the first Portland Beer Week events but was later held in the summer, by the late great Hop & Vine pub and bottleshop on N. Killingsworth. The newly revamped Burger Brawl is a lunchtime, ticketed event that pits four brewers against each other for their best burger recipe and beer pairing on Wednesday, June 12th with 1130am and 130pm seatings.
The Brewers Burger Brawl is one of a few recently announced 2019 Portland Beer Week events that are now on sale, including the Portland Beer and Cheese Fest and the official closing event Snackdown. The 2019 Brewers Burger Brawl competitors include the host Wayfinder Beer, versus Von Ebert Brewing, Stormbreaker Brewing and pFriem Family Brewers. Each participant will cook their own giant slider sized burger at grill stations in front of the brewery. Each ticket holder gets a plate with all four burgers and 5oz pours of each breweries beer, plus complimentary Wayfinder fries and Salt & Straw ice cream. Additional beers will be available for purchase at the bar.
Stormbreaker Brewing was the winner of the last Burger Brawl held at The Hop & Vine in 2015. For anyone that has attended the previous incarnation of this event, you know that the competitors go all out on these burgers with sometimes over the top ingredients and come up with some truly fantastical creations.
Tickets will go quick for each seating, one running 11:30am - 1pm and the next 1:30pm - 3pm. Get your tickets here.
Everyone gets a vote for People’s Choice of each session, and three judges will determine their own Grand Champion!
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Growing Gardens, a local nonprofit (www.growing-gardens.org), Growing Gardens will also be selling raffle tickets for Nicky Farms sampler packs and tickets to Wild About Game in September.
