The Bier Stein Announces 2019 Invitational Beer Fest on 6/1

The Bier Stein Bottleshop & Pub in Eugene, OR released the list of breweries and details of its fourth annual 2019 Invitational Beer Fest, to be held on Saturday, June 1st from noon-8pm. The fest is the unofficial kickoff to Eugene Beer Week, which runs June 3-8 this year. The Invitational features a hand-picked list of Oregon breweries and cideries, who bring one-off, seasonal, and otherwise non-flagship beers and ciders in a wide range of styles to this party in the parking lot. This year will feature a dunk tank for charity, and live music, as well as festy pub grub provided by The Bier Stein served outside (the Stein will operate as usual inside).

Each year, the roster of breweries changes just a bit to include new and hot breweries. This year features two newer Eugene breweries, Freehand and Manifest, and Cyderish, which has been making moves in town lately. The Invitational Beer Fest is known for being one of the more affordable beer fests with a well rounded, diverse list. $25 gets a tulip glass and 5 taster tickets; more tickets are $1 apiece and beers range from 1-4 tickets for a 4oz pour.

This year’s Invitational will feature beer and cider from 36 of the best producers in Oregon. Prepare towander through the realms of one of a kind releases and a plethora of beer styles. Whether amateur oraficionado, guests can dive into the rich craft community by exploring more than 60 craft beers andciders. The Bier Stein is working closely with the breweries to acquire a range specialty products outsideof flagship brands. As always, seasonal, one-off, cellared, barrel-aged, and “altered” beers will be thefocus of the fest. A brewer or representative from each brewery will be pouring beer from noon until3pm.

Live music featuring Pagan Jug Band and Eugene’s own Inner Limits will begin at 1pm and continue forthe duration of the fest. Performances will be sustainably powered through solar energy, courtesy ofPedal Power. The Bier Stein’s kitchen and bar will be in operation as usual, and there will be additionalfood available in the parking lot. There will be plenty of tent space for shade, tables, and seating. Bringyour own water bottle to fill from a convenient water station. This year they are also adding a dunk tankto the event. A donation of $5 to the Cascades Raptor Center gives you 3 chances to dunk your favorite(or least favorite) local beer celebrity!

Admission is $25 the day of the event (no advance tix) and includes a souvenir tulip glass plus 5 tastertickets. Additional taster tickets will be available for $1/each. Pours will be 4oz. and range from 1-4tickets per pour. Designated drivers may enter for $5. Cash only for entry and all other purchases (thereis an ATM on site).

For the beer fan who loves to give back, volunteer pouring shifts will be available for those with acurrent OLCC Servers Permit.
