https://youtu.be/UAKsvSRN918

Non-profit small brewers trade group the Brewers Association has released its first documentary short, For the Love of Craft. The BA is releasing the film for free and encouraging members and guilds to host their own screenings of the film with a handful announced already below. So far, no screenings have been announced in the pacific northwest, so this could be an opportunity for anyone qualified and reading this news now, to host one.

More from a press release:

The film peels back the label of what it means to be a craft brewer and reveals the true heart of craft by introducing the people behind it.

From the luminaries and icons of the craft world, to the industry’s newest players, the film dives deep to expose the desires, dreams, wisdoms, and naiveties of people pursuing their passions – through independence.

For the Love of Craft is produced by the Brewers Association, Studio C3, and Charlie Papazian. The film premiered at the 2019 Craft Brewers Conference® in Denver, Colorado and will premiere internationally at beer festivals in Canada and Sweden this fall. The film is available now to Brewers Association members who may download and screen the film for free. See a preview of the film.

Why
The Brewers Association is offering free screenings to its members as an opportunity for brewers to share the story and passion of the craft beer community and what it means to be an independent brewer. Brewery members and guilds are invited to host private screenings at their breweries, local theaters, and unique neighborhood locales in order to create special events around the film for beer lovers and as a way to draw in new fans.

Who
The film’s inspiration grew from the BA archive of photographs and more than 80 hours of filmed interviews with innovators of the craft beer industry.

Breweries and craft beer luminaries included in the film: Larry Bell of Bell’s Brewing, Kevin Blodger of Union Craft Brewing, Ken Grossman of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, Kim Jordan of New Belgium Brewing Company, and Jim Koch of Boston Beer Company.
